what does one image signify?
can an object from the past, so long ago recall each moment.
I sit staring at this ring.
The ring she wore.
Her hands, worn from work, unmanicured, shifting the car, smoking a cigarette.
and this ring, this quite innocent, quite beautiful -and likely a keepsake- haunts me.
To imagine it on my hand is unthinkable.
I see her hands.
Her hands in the car in Santa Cruz rummaging through a purse looking for god knows what, I see it not finding it's goal and coming at my face, never quite striking , but owning the threat.

at the door, the protocal for those taking the cover is to get the $, to those entering, the protocal is to get out of paying it.
to make both parties happy, I've created a "pass phrase" system.

Basically, it goes a little something like:

an example of something
